After a restful night’s sleep, all of the children woke up and were ready for their 8.30am breakfast. Today was a choice of cereal followed by beans on toast or toast with jam. Everyone was very excited for the activities ahead!

The children had some free time to play outside before they were split into their four groups. For today’s activities, the children were either taking a walk into Edgmond village or apple pressing, they got to complete both activities during the day.

The apple pressing was a great process, starting with picking the juiciest apples from the orchard, washing them all before they were sliced. The children then had a turn at churning the apples before finally they were pressed. The results were delicious! Well done to all of the children for their hard work. We are looking forward to drinking the yummy apple juice for tomorrow’s breakfast.

Lunch today was a sandwich and crisps, followed by fruit and some cake (courtesy of our birthday girl!) After lunch, we all sang happy birthday to Isla as she raised the birthday flag to fly high over the Edgmond grounds.

Edgmond village was a lovely walk in the sunshine, the children got to see the local school, church and several monuments that were built hundreds of years ago! We compared the village to our home and noticed several differences. The roads were very quiet and there were no roadworks or temporary traffic lights in sight! The children behaved exceptionally well and were very polite to any local people we saw.

After a busy day, it was time for dinner. Tonight, we had a yummy roast dinner with all the vegetable trimmings followed by a peach meringue pavlova. Lots of the children said their dinner was ‘amazing’!

We then headed back outside for some evening games on the field area, the children showed great resilience and teamwork once again. After our fun was over, we had our showers and got cosy with a film night. It was soon time for hot chocolate and a cookie before bed time.

A fabulous fun-filled day!
