At Grove Vale, we are committed to building a greener future.  We believe that even the smallest hands can make a big difference.   Sustainability is a key part of our school culture and we are making steps to embed it as a key part of our curriculum, encouraging children to care for the environment.

This is our Grove Vale Eco-Code.  This is a whole school promise to protect our planet, created by our wonderful eco-committee.

We are proud to have been awarded an Eco-Schools Green Flag Award that celebrates the ecological achievements of our pupils.

What We’re Doing...

Eco Committee

Our student-led Eco Council meets regularly to plan and lead sustainability initiatives across the school. They help raise awareness and encourage eco-friendly behaviours among pupils and staff.

Recycling & Waste Reduction

Paper, cardboard, and plastics are recycled in all classrooms.

We encourage litter-free lunches and have litter-pickers who volunteer to help throughout the school.

Energy Saving

Lights and devices are switched off when not in use.

Travel Smart

We promote walking, cycling, and scooting to school through special events like Walk to School Week and encourage families to reduce car use.

Uniform & Clothing Swap

Our regular uniform swap events help reduce textile waste.

Learning for Life

Our curriculum includes:

Environmental topics in Science, PSHE and Geography.

Together, Grove Vale is growing a greener, kinder world for the next generation.
